Cobbler Night!

Now that there's a bit of warmth melting away the vestiges of winter, my family has been craving cobbler night--a tradition we started last summer wherein we invite anywhere from a few to fifty neighbors over for Dutch oven peach cobbler served up in paper bowls in our driveway.

Monday, though a brisk April breeze threatened our determination, we held the first official cobbler night of the year. Here's our favorite recipe.

Dutch Oven Peach Cobbler

1 large can sliced peaches
1 package yellow cake mix
¼ cup brown sugar
Dash of cinnamon

Prepare charcoal. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients. Stir until well blended, put into well-seasoned Dutch oven and cook until the center is firm. We double this recipe for a size 12 oven.

Hey, somebody forgot the ice cream!
