Return Elon...

In 2006, Gael Yonnet became a paraplegic; he hit his head while snowboarding. Gael came to U.S. with the dream of becoming a doctor. The accident could have changed that. He didn't let it. He pressed forward with his dream and is now a senior resident at the University of Utah hospital's neuro-rehabilitation department. His love of the outdoors never dimmed. In 2009 a companion dog named Elon not only helped him regain some of the active lifestyle he loves but also joined him in his work. The dog does rounds with the doctor and helps bolster the morale of patients.

In a cruel twist, Gael's relationship with Elon recently came to a halt. The agency that gave him the dog, Canine Companions for Independence, took the animal away. They claimed Dr. Yonnet did not keep Elon on a leash at all times. Gael admits that is true, however he maintains Elon was never in any danger.
